The Snickett Ticket

Lemony Snickett in Vancouver.

I’m on a bit of a high after seeing Lemony Snickett last night in Vancouver at the Kidsbooks-hosted event. He was truly entertaining and had everyone (including me) in stitches (James has since told me Lemony is a stand-up comedian, and it’s no surprise). As someone who does a lot of school visits, I found Mr. Snickett’s performance to be inspirational. He really clowned it up, and interacted with the crowd by squeezing down the rows of crowded seats to pick on audience members—regardless of age. Happily (or sadly, depending on your point of view) I escaped torture. He also masterfully captured his character as portrayed in the books by pretending that he was not Lemony Snickett at all, but only an aid…but, of course, dropping hints here and there that he might actually be him after all.
