I have some great news for you mac users out there who haven’t had the know-how to personalize and publish your own website using iweb. Finally, at long last, after reading and reading and taking 3 workshops and spending endless fruitless hours on the computer, I have gotten a new webpage made in iweb onto my nugentart.com website. I was desperate to publish it there as that is the url that is published in my books. And how this nongeek has finally managed it is thanks to two wonderful bloggers who explained that you can upload your iweb site to a server OTHER than dotMac, and described clearly how to personalize the rather banal iweb templates. these are Miss Cupcake and An Excited Bride – both geniuses in my opinion. Plus enormously generous in taking the time to blog so instructively about it.
My new site is only a page with a big illustration and some links to other sites for gallery (flickr) and profile (cwill). I was inspired by the extremely talented Brett Helquist (Lemony Snicket illustrator) whose minimalist site is nothing more than an illustration and his agent’s phone number. What chutzpah!
