Touring Tales

Kari-Lynn Winters is heading to PEI this November as she participates in the 2009 TD Canadian Children’s Book Week.

Kari has four new books out this fall: On My Walk (Tradewind Books, illustrated by Christina Leist) is a rhythmic picturebook for young children. It is about going on a Vancouver walk.

Runaway Alphabet (Simply Read Books, illustrated by Ben Frey) is an alphabet book unlike any other. It focuses on the sounds of the letters while simultaneously telling a story.

When Chickens Fly (Gumboot Books, illustrated by Izabela Bzymek) is a humorous picturebook about a chicken who wants to be a free range aerialist. But chickens, as Esper finds out, are expected to lay eggs. Will she get to compete? This story is inspired by the Olympic female aerial skiers who will not be allowed to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

aRHYTHMetique (Gumboot Books, Co-written with Tiffany Stone and Lori Sherritt-Fleming, Illustrated by Scot Ritchie) is the French version of aRHYTHMetic: A book and a Half of Poems about Math.
