It’s a scrapbook created from correspondence and letters between two teenage friends in 1942. One is Japanese American and has been interned. Her friend is still sending news from home about school, the people they know, social activities, and more.
The book was written by Beverly Patt and illustrated by Shula, who has been invited to host an event at Joy Kogawa House once the book is launched in April.
Shula also has two creative non-fiction pieces airing on CBC Radio One in the next little while. One will be on Tapestry and one on the Sunday Edition.
