In the Limelight

CWILL BC member Dennis Foon wrote the screenplay for Allan Stratton’s Printz Award winning novel, Chanda’s Secrets, as a feature film. He even travelled to South Africa for the pre production. Well, last Thursday the film was announced as an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival, competing in Un Certain Regard. A huge achievement!

If you’d like to see some of Dennis Foon’s work, mark your calendars for this Sunday, April 25, at 8 p.m., at the Arts Club on Granville Island’s new Revue Stage. There will be a staged reading of his new play SCAR TISSUE, an adaptation of Michael Ignatieff’s Booker Prize nominated novel. It’s about two grown brothers and their aging mother. Gabrielle Rose is featured in it. Admission is by small donation.
