News Round-up

Here’s a sampling of news and events from CWILL BC members:

  • Robin Stevenson just launched her latest book, a juvenile novel called Liars and Fools, published by Orca. This winter, Robin will be teaching writing at Camosun College and at the University of Victoria, and will be “Writer-In-Residence” at a Vancouver Island elementary school, doing a series of creative writing workshops for fourth and fifth graders. Her next book, a hi-lo novel in the Orca Soundings series, will be published in May. Robin is looking forward to visiting schools in Ontario in the spring as part of the CCBC Book Week tour.

  • Rachel Dunstan Muller has just celebrated the release of Squeeze, her fourth novel. Squeeze is a caving adventure set on Vancouver Island, and is part of the Orca Sports series.
  • Gillian Richardson’s book, Kaboom! Explosions of All Kinds (Annick, 2009), has been shortlisted for the 2011 Silver Birch Nonfiction Award (Ontario), and the 2011 Rocky Mountain Book Award (Alberta), both readers’ choice awards.
