Region: The Gulf Islands & Vancouver Island region

Where did you grow up, and does that place affect your writing?
I grew up in Victoria and the natural beauty definately inspires my picture books.

When did you know you wanted to write children’s books?
I knew I wanted to write and illustrate children’s books when I thought of a creative way to engage kids in reading through art.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on A Cat on the Wild Edge about a cat exploring its backyard. It has an artistic repsonse similiar to my first story A Salmon’s Sky View.

If you were a BC fruit or vegetable, what would you be?
I would be a salmonberry.

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?
I would like the superpower of flying the way I do in my dreams.
