The High Bar Gang performs a benefit concert for Literacy Victoria tonight. Described as “classic bluegrass for modern times,” the band includes life-long musicians Colin Nairne, Eric Reed, and Shari Ulrich.
This is the first of two upcoming fundraisers for Literacy Victoria. The second is the Peter Gzowski Invitational (PGI) Golf Tournament for Literacy, this fall at Uplands Golf Club.
The concert will be held at the Belfry Arts Centre (1291 Gladstone Avenue, Victoria, BC) and will be hosted by Jo-Ann Roberts of CBC Radio’s All Points West. Doors will open at 6:00pm for a pre-show reception; tickets are $35. Get your tickets at the Belfry Theatre Box Office (250-385-6815) or online.
All proceeds from this one-perfomance-only concert will benefit Literacy Victoria, a non-profit community organization that provides adults with free support in basic reading, writing, math, computer and other essential skills.
