On Saturday, May 3rd, the 30th annual Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prizes Gala was held at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel. Four tables were commandeered by CWILL members and Vancouver Children’s Literature Roundtable members, in part to celebrate children’s author, Kit Pearson, who received this year’s Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence.

In the two children’s book categories, Ashley Little won the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize and Julie Morstad won the Christie Harris Illustrated Children’s Literature Prize.

CWILL president and intrepid reporter, Lori Sherritt passed on these photos from the evening.
