Word Vancouver 2014 – something for everyone, including dog lovers

Word Vancouver 2014 happens this weekend with events all over Vancouver for all ages and interests.

The entire schedule is listed here on the Word website, but here are the kid lit specific events CWILL BC members are involved in:

Shake a Paw, and evening of dog stories, in memory of Joan Betty Stuchner, takes place on Friday Sept 26th, 6:30pm. This event features Linda Bailey, Caroline Adderson, Jacqueline Pearce and Cynthia Heinrichs. Cynthia will be reading from Joan’s work.
Christianne’s Lyceum (3696 West 8th Ave, by Alma)

Kids Word starts at 11am on Sunday, with lots of children’s book authors, including many CWILL BC members, performing readings from their books.
Material is appropriate for under age 8 from 11:00–2:00, then ages 6+ for the rest of the day.

Getting Started and Staying Motivated as a Published Children’s Book Author or Illustrator, is part of Word Talks, and takes place at 11am on Sunday. The event features Norma Charles, Dan Bar-el, Cynthia Nugent, Jeremy TankardRaymond Nakamura, and moderator Kathryn Shoemaker.
