DNA Detective

Tanya Lloyd Kyi’s DNA Detective has been nominated for the Red Cedar, B.C.’s young readers’ choice award. The book explains the basics of genetics in simple, clear language, and reveals the fascinating and frequently entertaining stories of the researchers who discovered pieces of the DNA puzzle. As they explore the science of genes, readers will apply what they learn in an engaging challenge: helping a young detective eliminate suspects to solve a major crime, based on a real-world case.

DNA Detective has also been shortlisted for the Information Book Award by the Children’s Literature Roundtable of Canada and for the Science in Society Book Award by the Canadian Science Writers’ Association.
